On January 30, 2004, Centex Corporation distributed their 65% ownership in Centex Construction Products, Inc. to the Centex shareholders. Centex Construction Products, Inc. ceased to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "CXP." The company officially changed its name to Eagle Materials Inc. On February 2, 2004, Eagle Materials Inc.'s two classes of common stock began trading under the symbols "EXP" and "EXP.B" on the New York Stock Exchange.

On April 11, 2006, Eagle's stockholders approved a proposal to eliminate Eagle's dual class stock structure through an amendment to Eagle's charter. As a result of the favorable vote, after the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange on that day, each share of Eagle's Common Stock and each share of Eagle's Class B Common Stock were reclassified on a one-for-one basis into a single share of new Common Stock. All stock certificates for Common Stock or Class B Common Stock automatically represent shares of Eagle's new Common Stock, and all shares of Eagle's new Common Stock now trade under the existing symbol "EXP". If you have questions regarding this transition, please contact Eagle Materials Inc.'s investor relations department at info@eaglematerials.com.
