Image of Dave Powers

David Powers has more than 35 years of experience in the building materials industry. He joined Eagle Materials Inc. (formerly Centex Construction Products) in 2002 as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing and was promoted in early 2005 to Executive Vice President, Gypsum. In April 2016, Mr. Powers was named President and Chief Executive Officer. 

Mr. Powers began his career in the construction products and materials industry in 1972, at USG Corporation where he served in various positions at the corporate and subsidiary levels.

Mr. Powers received a B.A. in business administration from California State University, Fullerton.

William Devlin joined Eagle Materials in 2004 as Director, Internal Audit. The following year, he was named Vice President and Controller. Mr. Devlin assumed his current role as Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer in 2009.

Previously, Mr. Devlin spent 16 years in public accounting, nearly eight of which were with KPMG in Jackson, Mississippi. In addition, he served as Manager, and later, Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Global Capital Markets practice in London and Zurich and in their Audit practice in Dallas, TX.

Mr Devlin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Millsaps College, a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and is a Certified Public Accountant.


 

Image of Gerald J. Essl

Gerald Essl joined Eagle Materials (formerly Centex Construction Products) in 1975 as Lab Analyst at Illinois Cement Company. Over the next ten years, he held various production positions throughout many of Eagle Materials' other cement subsidiaries. In 1985, Mr. Essl was named President of Texas Lehigh Cement Company, where he served until November 2002, when he assumed his current position in Eagle's corporate office as Executive Vice President, Cement and Concrete/Aggregates.

Prior to beginning his career at Eagle Materials, Mr. Essl served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Essl holds a B.S. in chemistry from Illinois State University.

Image of James H. Graass

James Graass joined Eagle Materials Inc. (formerly Centex Construction Products) in November 2000 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. In July 2001, he took on additional responsibilities as Secretary of the company.

Previously, Mr. Graass spent nine years with the Centex Corportation organization. Joining Centex in 1991 as Associate General Counsel for Centex Corporation, he provided legal support for Centex Corporation, Centex Construction Products (now Eagle Materials) and CTX Mortgage Company. In 1994, Mr. Graass became General Counsel for CTX Mortgage Company and was appointed EVP in 1999. Prior to his career with Centex, Mr. Graass was an associate in the corporate and securities section at Hughes & Luce in Dallas, Tex.

Mr. Graass holds a B.A. in economics from Tufts University, an M.B.A. in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University.

Michael Haack joined Eagle Materials in December 2014 as Chief Operating Officer. The COO potision was newly created in response to the company's significant growth and continued strategic expansion in construction and energy-related markets.

Previously Mr. Haack spent 17 years at Halliburton Energy Services, holding successively important operting posistions, most recently with the management of Global Operations for Sperry Drilling., a multi-billion dollar company in the drilling and evaluation division of Halliburton with operations in every major global oil and gas market.

Mr. Haack holds a Master of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Pudue University, both in Industrial Engineering.

Craig Kesler joined Eagle Materials Inc. in 2004 as Director - Strategic Planning. The next year, he assumed the role of Vice President - Investor Relations and Corporate Devleopment. In August 2009, Mr. Kesler was promoted to his current position as Executive Vice President - Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining Eagle Materials, Mr. Kesler successfully served multi-national clients during his tenure in public accounting with Arthur Andersen LLP and Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Kesler holds a B.A. in accounting from Southwestern University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Robert Stewart joined Eagle Materials Inc. in August 2009 as Executive Vice President - Strategy, Corporate Development and Communications

Previously Mr. Stewart served as an executive officer at Dallas-based Centex Corporation, where he had responsibility for Strategy, Corporate Development, Marketing, Sales and Communications. Prior to his nine year tenure with Centex, Mr. Stewart enjoyed a 23-year career at Weyerhaeuser Company, a global forest products firm. Mr. Stewart held a range of key leadership positions, both corporate and international at Weyerhaeuser.

Mr. Stewart holds an M.B.A. from the University of Washington, where he graduated with first-in-class honors, and where he received a Bachelor's degree in English, with a minor in Mathematics.
